Used Cooking Oil (UCO)
What is Used Cooking Oil?
Used Cooking Oil (UCO) is a recycled vegetable oil recovered after food preparation or frying processes in households, restaurants, food factories, and industrial kitchens.
Rather than being discarded as waste, UCO has become a highly valuable renewable feedstock that supports the global transition toward sustainable fuels and circular resource use.

How is it Derived?
At Ecobiodexsel, we collect, consolidate, and trade UCO from a controlled network of food manufacturers, hospitality operators, and waste-management partners. After collection, the oil typically undergoes treatment at downstream facilities, which may include:
● Filtration and settling to remove food residues
● Drying and dehydration to eliminate water
● Purification and pre-treatment for fuel or chemical-grade applications
The processed UCO is then supplied to refineries and biofuel producers as a renewable raw material for advanced energy and chemical production.
Biofuels
Primary raw material for biodiesel (FAME), renewable diesel (HVO), and Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).
Oleochemicals
Used in producing fatty acids, lubricants, surfactants, and waxes.
Industrial Energy
Can be used in boilers and co-firing units as a renewable alternative to fossil heating oils.
Chemical Feedstock
Serves as a base oil for creating bio-based chemicals and esters.
Environmental Sustainability
Helps reduce waste disposal, improve waste segregation, and lower greenhouse-gas emissions throughout the supply chain.
Used Cooking Oil is a versatile waste-derived feedstock with multiple downstream applications:
